"...and now APE will run red with blood again!!!"

Just a quick heads up before I don my Kurt Russell disguise and pumpkin the shit out of tonight.

Zerofriends, my apparel and publishing company, will have a booth set up at the APE Convention (Alternative Press Expo) in San Francisco this weekend, Nov 1-2.

Link to APE: http://www.comic-con.org/ape/

I will be floating around the booths (Zerofriends is BOOTH #150) off and on both days in my usual nervous fashion. But DS and Captain Shotgun will be manning the booth if I'm meandering, so come say hi to all of us. We will be set up alongside the usual gang of assholes, Dave Correia (Play With Knives), Jon Wayshak, Brad Isdrab, Lucien Shapiro, so come say hi, and check out a bunch of the new apparel in person as it smells better than online.
Also, we will be selling BUNNYWITH #2 for the FIRST TIME IN YEARS!!! Its been sold out forever and we finally had it reprinted just in time for APE.

And lastly, in addition to some of our regular Giclee prints that we offer, we will be debuting a new, smaller, but ULTRA-CUTE (god damn corgi puppy cute) 8 x 10 Hand Signed Giclee print available for only $10. Check it:

And on Saturday night, right after APE, is the CROM art show at Varnish Gallery that a lot of the artists at APE contributed Conan pieces to!

Hope to see you there.

Red Bull and the Horrific Beard Trauma

What the hell am i doing RIGHT THIS MINUTE???
Well....just wishing that i shaved because every other time i put the red bull to my lips, one of my mustache hairs gets caught in the grubby little magnetic and sharp lid and pulls them out. and then i drink them. But they give me energy so rock the fuck on.

Working on a new piece for Corey Helford Gallery.....
Needs to be done tonight...
More Red Bull and beard trauma required.

BUNNYWITH #2 Comic Finally Back In Stock!!!

Well, after 3 years of being Bunnywith#2-less, we finally reprinted it in all of its demented glory and it is now for sale on zerofriends.com

click on any of the images to purchase, or just go to zerofriends.com

DIrect link to purchase:
http://zerofriends.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=24&products_id=210

Some info about the book:
"By Alex Pardee (that's me).

"BUNNYWITH #2"
B&W. 36 pages. Originally printed and sold out back in 2005.

This is the first time it has been available in 3 years!

Bunnywith #2 is a follow-up collection to the original Bunnywith Comic.

This new issue contains over 250 MORE Bunnies "WITH" something,

like BunnyWITH herpes, or BunnyWITH 7000 eyes. Yes, it sounds like a dumb idea, but it works
because the possibilities are endless, and the humor ranges from juvenile, to
way over anyone's head. And when we say endless, we mean ENDLESS.

This is the second issue out of four. When all four issues are complete, there will be
a total of 1000 Bunnies, thus the subtitle "My Book of A Thousand Bunnies".
The first printing of this book sold out within a month of publication, and since
has not been available until now. You NEED this book to live.

Did you see this shizzzz?

If you were anywhere near Union Square in San Francisco last week you may have seen these things plastered all over the MACY's widows. It was pretty crazy for me to see that.
word.

for more info on the treeple stuff, go to:

or go into Macy's and buy that shizzzzzz.

Official TREEPLE Party / Art Show pics

Well, it officially took over an official year, but the official "Night Of The Treeple" Cinematic Clothing Line that I designed with HURLEY is officially out, and officially CELEBRATED, as we had the OFFICIAL release party at Club 6 in San Franciscoffical. Let's go OFFISHING!!!

I was too officially nervous to have a camera on hand, but thanks to STEPH GRANT and WIlliam from JUXTAPOZ, here are a handful of official photos of the art show, shortly before CAGE, TOPR, GRAND INVINCIBLE, and PAPERVEHICLE OFFICIALLY destroyed the official stage with awesomeness in the musical department.

Enjoy.

Club 6, the official scene of the crime.

before the show started, I had to whisper my weight gain secrets to Cage.

Actress Sandwich. Me, the 2 lead actresses of the TREEPLE trailer (Marrissa D and Merisa B), and my favorite insanely hot walrus woman in the middle who's TOPR impression is uncanny.

Yah, all this shit was FREE! And EDIBLE! if you like paper.

JUXTAPOZ broke open the vault and supplied some familiar mags!

The Macy's crew holding the insane 7 color screen-prints that BURLESQUE DESIGN printed for the show! These prints were limited to the show, but zerofriends.com will have a handful of second run prints soon.

Sales-mistress, Laura from Hurley and myself.

Sean Leonard, of Zerofriends, sang "I kissed myself and i LIKED iiiiiittttt" all god damn night. Brad Isdrab and Lucien Shapiro sculpted an amazing Treeple installation that was pretty dangerous, but beautiful. And it was acting weird...like a tree.

Nate Van Dyke (right) showed up to prove that he's not taller than Alex Tarrant when there's a beer on Alex's head. FYI the person who took this picture was standing straight up.

THE GLOJ! (The Gorgeous Ladies Of Juxtapoz)

Jon Dragonette gave a thumbs up to the fact that he created the DOPEST PHOTO EVER for the art show. (see below)

Skinner, one of Sacramento's most prolific artists, made time to rip off his denim sleeves and come down to show some art and plot death, while the 2 people in the background just found out each other has herpes!

One of Skinner's pieces.

One of the new pieces i did for the show.

Robert Bowen

Legendary comic book artist, creator of the MAXX, Sam Kieth's piece.

With Joe McElroy from Hurley and WIlliam from JUX.

Rehearsing for the show with Robert Bowen, Aesop Rock, Cage, and F. Sean Martin. We ALL want to kill you. I promise.

Gratuitous desaturated uncomfortable shot.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the show and support us.
It was fun.

Now, its time to work on the Tree-quel, or perhaps part 3 of the Tree-logy.

"Suffer no guilt, ye who wield this in the name of CROM."

My mom almost named me Conan, which actually would have been more appropriate later in my life because one time, this Mongol General was interviewing me and my scrappy little Mongol friend, Tegus, and the General asked Tegus, "Hey, man, so what do you think is BEST in life?"
And that little pussy Tegus said some shit like "Oh, i dont know, maybe like, having a pet falcon on my wrist, and like some wind in my hair."

I almost punched him. That's the gayest answer he could have said. I was stunned, i knew we were dead. The interview was going to be over. The Mongol General was visibly shaken, as he turned to me and screamed:
"WRONG!!! I SAID WHAT'S BEST IN LIFE??!!"
"To crush your enemies", I responded firmly, "to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!!"
The Mongol General calmed down..."Good", he said.."That is good."

Because of my quick Mongol wit, i flipped that interview into one of the best ones ever.

And now, because of my past with a bunch of fantasy shit like that, its only natural that I would like to take part in "CROM", a group art exhibit curated by
DAVE CORREIA, featuring a handful of artists who are exhibiting new artwork all based around the CONAN movies!

The artists exhibiting are:

Uninformed Man has an announcement...

Here's my friend, Uninformed Man, to tell you about something:

"Like me, my friends at TRADITION think Satan is the MAN. He sits in a Death Throne all day and just yells up through the ground at people he hates and his voice kills them with its INSANITY, and that's pretty rad. Plus his mom, Satania, was a cool enough mom to pop him out on Halloween, so he has the best birthday day ever. And Satan's birthday is right around the corner, so we all wanted to get him something special. But since he already has Jesus' ashes in a vile that he wears around his neck when he works out (just to show off), the Tradition homies organized an art show in his honor, that centers around The Occult, Horror and all things Halloween. It's gonna be so rad!"

So ya, thats PRETTY close to what's really going on. But basically, my friend EYEONE has organized a Halloween-themed art show at TRADITION in LA. Along with myself, there are a bunch of dope artists in the show, like AXIS, J. Bannon, Marco Zamora, Eye One, and more. If you are around the LA area this weekend, here's the info.

Hosted By: TRADITION
When: Saturday Oct 18, 2008
at 7:00 PM
Where TRADITION
2895 AGOURA RD
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA 91361
SHOPTRADITION.COM

Unfortuantely, i WILL NOT be in attendance because I'm too far away and my arms are too tired from flying down there a hundred times in the past 2 months. But i think everyone else should be there, including the guys from DETHKILLS doing live screenprinting!!!

Here are the quick little pieces I did for the show, which revolve around the fact that BATMAN (yah, your favorite masked detective) was originally an ancient mythical cult being whose story was basically about a bat hunter who, in a fit of symbiotic revenge rage, captured the bat that killed his wife and, since he couldnt live without his wife, he wanted to show the bat what it was like to depend on someone else for life and love. So the hunter shoved the Bat onto his head like a mask and forced the bat to remain a part of him. Shortly after, the tables turned and the hunter's foolish attempt at revenge backfired when he suffocated and died. The bat then took over the hunter's body and used his new found appendages and abilities to lead warriors to kill weak people because it was fun. True story.

Happy Halloween!!

Hello Again...Yah, like that movie.

Hello again.

That reminds me, theres a 1987 movie with Shelly Long called "Hello Again" about a chick that chokes to death and is brought back to life by her wacky sister who happens to be a witch! Imagine the luck that choked-out girl had!? It's almost like a romantic comedy chick-flick version of Spawn. Well, I have a lot in common with "Hello Again". OK, not a LOT, but I remember the poster for the movie said something like:

"Her life just hasn't been the same since her death."

That's what we have in common. When I decided to make the leap of faith into trying to make a living creating art, in a way, it marked my death. Or at least the death of any normality i possessed. And my life, much like Shelly Long's in "Hello Again", has definitely not been the same since my death. Fortunately, for me, SOME good stuff emerges periodically throughout my trip around the stress-filled afterlife. And one of the BEST things that comes out of death....is....

SHIRTS!

Yes, working hard and sacrificing my health, social life, teeth, and mental stamina, paid off this week when we got our entire new line of ZEROFRIENDS shirts in stock and ready to sell. And as my good friend John Doe from the movie Se7en said, "I would tell you more but i dont want to spoil the surprise."
